Cazcabel Reposado comes from Los Altos de Jalisco, the highland part of Mexico's tequila country. The Vázquez family has farmed agave there for four generations. Only 100% Blue Weber agave from their own estate goes into the bottle. The spirit is distilled twice in copper-lined stills. Then it rests at least six months in 200-litre American oak barrels.
Cazcabel keeps the recipe simple. You get agave, water and yeast, with no additives. The bottle is made at NOM 1436 and is certified kosher and gluten-free.
Bring the glass close and agave greets you first. Eucalyptus, white pepper and caramel sit around it, with toasted oak underneath. On the palate the agave tastes earthy and dry. Vanilla and toasted oak keep it in balance. The finish is long and layered and ends with a gentle jalapeño-like tingle.
It works neat, but it also loves a shaker. Try it in a classic Margarita, a Paloma or a spicy Margarita. You can also pour it over ice with a wedge of lime. If you like to mix, browse our cocktails for more easy ideas.
Serve it next to tacos, grilled meats or bright citrus dishes. Cazcabel Reposado is a good everyday bottle if you want real agave flavor at a fair price. It is easy to share with friends and simple to enjoy on a quiet night in.
